Warrnambool stabling yard

Project dates: 2026

V/Line Project
Warrnambool stabling yard

We’re building a new stabling yard in Warrnambool enabling VLocity trains to be housed overnight in a secure and fit-for-purpose facility.

In April 2025, a temporary stabling yard was built so that the permanent stabling yard could be constructed with less disruption to passenger services.

Once complete, the permanent Warrnambool stabling yard will house VLocity trains overnight, ensuring we continue to deliver a reliable service for Warrnambool Line passengers.

The precinct will also have new staff facilities, new CCTV, security and PA systems. There will be a new cleaners shed with facilities to maintain V/Line assets, alongside upgraded communications, electrical and signalling equipment rooms.

The heritage turntable will be retained and linked to the track, so heritage services can continue to run to Warrnambool.

We are also upgrading the Gilles Street pedestrian crossing to an active crossing, making it safer and easier for pedestrians and cyclists to access the waterfront.

The works are expected to be complete mid-2026.
