The first thing you will need to do is to see what positions are currently available. You can make the search more targeted by selecting your preferred location, job title or key word. Be sure to read the key responsibilities and requirements before creating your application. You will need to upload a copy of your CV and a cover letter and answer some questions as part of your application. You will need to provide your contact details, so we can get in touch with you. If your dream job isn’t currently available, then we recommend you create a job alert, so we can notify you when it becomes available.

Once we have received your application, we will review your skills and experience and compare them to the requirements of the available position. We will let you know via email or phone if your application has been successful.

We may contact you by phone to further discuss your application or you may be invited to complete a video interview.

Many roles at V/Line require the applicant to complete some online testing to verify your suitability for the position. The type of testing required varies depending on the role but may include verbal and numeric, values alignment, safety or personality testing. These assessments are typically short, and you can complete them online at a time convenient to you.

In the event your application is shortlisted, you will be invited in for a face-to-face interview. Depending on the role this may be a behavioural based interview or assessment centre. You may be asked to bring copies of qualifications or identification documents to your interview.

If your application has progressed past the interview stage, then we need to do some final checks. You will need to provide us with professional referees we can contact. We will also complete a national police check, confirm your working rights and depending on the role verify your qualifications or ask you to undertake a medical assessment.

Once all the boxes have been ticked a member of the Talent Acquisition team will be in touch. Any offers of employment will be offered verbally and confirmed in writing. We will confirm your start date and your terms of employment.
